The chiropractic profession is over 120 years old and has a proud legacy in Australia for almost 100 years.

You can check out a little of the history of chiropractic here

The profession has evolved to encompass a 5-year undergraduate university program, with many post-graduate opportunities for graduates.

There are undergraduates programs at the following locations.

RMIT University, Melbourne (Paul Noone and Tony Cassis graduated from RMIT)

Murdoch University, Perth (Louise Kingsford graduated from Murdoch)

Macquarie University, Sydney

Central Queensland University, Queensland

Australian College of Chiropractic, Adelaide

Our profession in Australia has evolved into a modern, evidence-based, health-care profession. Chiropractors are fully registered and integrated into the Australian healthcare landscape. We provide health care for millions of Australians each year.

Our Small Street Clinic chiropractors represent a mix of old and new. From our oldest, ancient fuddy-duddy, Paul Noone, to our 2 younger dynamic, up-with-everything-modern-and-groovy-recent graduates, Tony Cassis and Louise Kingsford. We are trained in many different chiropractic clinical techniques and methods, from traditional biomechanical/structural approaches to modern clinical neuroscience applications used to treat complex and chronic cases with whom we consult. We employ firm, “hands-on” techniques preferred by some patients and gentler energy and instrument approaches preferred by others.

No matter what technique or approach we use in our office, we are very keen to explain everything we do to you, as we feel (and the scientific evidence tells us) that the more educated you are about your health, the more self-dependent you will become. We are also very keen to move you to rehabilitation/exercise as quickly as possible, as we feel that your health is really in your hands, not ours. As much as we love seeing you, we try to avoid you becoming dependent on us.

We try to incorporate an evidence-based approach to everything we do (we have a PhD amongst us, and all of us work continually in clinical research projects). However, we are all aware that “the scientific method” may strive for answers, but often falls short in the realm of neuromuscular health care. As a chiropractic team, we spend a lot of time together sharing our clinical experience in order to benefit each of the patients we consult, experience needed to fill gaps in the scientific evidence.

So that is a little bit about us. You can click on any of the words that are highlighted in the text, as they will send you to links that give a bit more explanation.
