Undergraduate Chiropractic Education B.App.Sc (chiro)
Paul Noone graduated from Phillip Institute in 1983 (click here if you want to look at that degree) and commenced practice as a chiropractor in Melbourne, Australia. He can’t believe it, but is is now 2023 and he has practiced for 38 years in both Australia and the Republic of Ireland. In 2012, Paul and his family moved to Bayside, Melbourne, and, along with his wife Joan, established the Small Street Clinic. Paul has undergone postgraduate education (including a PhD in clinical research methodology, and post-graduate training in clinical neuroscience), has lectured over 3,000 hours in the topic of clinical neuroscience to those who have sat and listened and continues to conduct a multifaceted chiropractic practice which includes the integration of clinical chiropractic into chronic and complex case management.
Paul and Joan have returned from their long overseas trip. They look forward to returning to practice in December 2023.
Diploma of Acupuncture, Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland Dip.Ac
In 1989, Paul and Joan moved to Dublin, Ireland, where they lived for 10 years. During this time, Paul completed further studies. Paul and Joan (who graduated from Nursing and Midwifery) both completed a Diploma of Acupuncture at the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland. (click here)
Doctoral (Ph.D.) Studies, University of Exeter, UK
After completing his Acupuncture studies, Paul applied to commence a PhD at the Centre of Complementary Health Studies at the University of Exeter, UK. Paul’s Doctoral Thesis focused on the Health Psychology/Beliefs of Chronic Low Back Pain and how Pain Neuroscience Education techniques might improve the outcomes of manual therapy. He successfully defended his Doctoral thesis in 1998.

Diplomate of Chiropractic Neurology (DACNB)
In 1995, Paul commenced postgraduate studies in chiropractic clinical neuroscience with Dr Ted Carrick. (click here for the Carrick Institute). He then successfully completed the Board Examinations for the American Chiropractic Neurology Board, attaining Diplomate Status in 1998. Click here for the ACNB.
Clinical Research
Even though Paul’s passion has been providing service to thousands of patients in clinical practices over 41 years (as of 2024), he has raised six children with his wife Joan, and has delivered many thousands of hours of post-graduate lectures in the area of chiropractic clinical neuroscience, he has still found time to be involved in a small amount of clinical research. His main research interests have been focused on the use of computerised force platforms to analyse human postural control.
